The successor to UCP President Ryan Becker, was formally acclaimed as the next president of the UCP at the 2021 UCP annual general meeting. Cynthia Moore, the former Calgary director, was one of three candidates for the UCP board that was acclaimed to their new position. She also served as the chair of the annual general meeting’s organizational committee.

After spending her youth in Alberta’s capital, Moore travelled south down the QEII to pursue a post-secondary education at the University of Calgary. She has previously spent time as a director with Calgary Health Trust and is also the owner of a community development consulting firm in the city.

When she was elected, she spoke to UCP members, saying"too many of us have forgotten that we are the United Conservatives. Some of us forget what brought us together and are now focusing on what divides us. Compromise isn't always easy but is often the right thing to do. We must remember that politics is the art of negotiation and compromise."

The position of board president will be up for election at this November’s UCP AGM.
