Key Influencer – Saheb Dullet – Chief of Staff to Alberta’s Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board

Saheb Dullet has served as Chief of Staff to Alberta’s Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board since May 2026, placing him at the centre of the government’s fiscal and economic decision-making. In this role, Dullet supports one of the province’s most influential ministers on files ranging from the provincial budget and government spending to taxation, insurance, investment, and broader economic policy.

Dullet brings extensive experience in both government and government relations. Prior to moving to Treasury Board and Finance, he served for one year as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Assisted Living and Social Services. That role gave him direct experience within one of the government’s major social policy portfolios and came during a period of significant restructuring across Alberta’s health and social service systems.

Before returning to government, Dullet spent more than four years with BILD Alberta, including nearly a year as Senior Director of Policy and Government Relations. Earlier in his career, Dullet spent almost five years with the Government of Alberta as an Advisor and later Senior Advisor, following two years working in regulatory legal services with TERA Environmental Consultants.

His current portfolio gives Dullet a particularly broad view across government. Treasury Board and Finance has been tasked with controlling expenditure growth, expanding the Heritage Savings Trust Fund, implementing Alberta’s new automobile insurance model, reviewing government grants, strengthening procurement practices, and examining the effectiveness of tax and industry incentive programs. The ministry is also expected to work across government on major investment, infrastructure, and economic development initiatives, giving Dullet exposure to files well beyond the traditional boundaries of finance.

Dullet’s previous experience in Assisted Living and Social Services may also prove particularly relevant, with Treasury Board and Finance now directed to work with that ministry on coordinating income-tested programs and streamlining benefit applications. Combined with his background in government relations and regulatory policy, his career has given him experience from both sides of the government-stakeholder relationship. As fiscal policy continues to shape nearly every major government initiative, Dullet will remain an important figure in helping translate the government’s economic and political priorities into implementation.
