Jesse Furber has served as Chief of Staff to Alberta’s Minister of Infrastructure since May 2026. In this role, he oversees ministerial operations, coordinates political and stakeholder strategy, and supports the delivery of one of the Government of Alberta’s largest capital portfolios. The Ministry of Infrastructure is responsible for planning, constructing, and maintaining public facilities across the province, placing Furber at the centre of major government investments in health care and continuing care facilities, schools, and transportation infrastructure.

Furber brings nearly a decade of political experience at both the federal and provincial levels. Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, he served as Senior Communications Advisor in the Office of the Premier, where he provided strategic communications support on government-wide priorities. Earlier, he was Press Secretary to Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors Devin Dreeshen, managing media relations and communications during a period of significant investment in Alberta’s transportation network and trade infrastructure.

Before joining the Government of Alberta, Furber spent more than five years working in Parliament. He served as Legislative Assistant and Constituency Affairs Advisor to Dane Lloyd, Member of Parliament for Sturgeon River—Parkland, following earlier internships in the office of Michael Cooper, Member of Parliament for St. Albert—Edmonton. These roles provided him with experience in parliamentary operations, constituency engagement, and legislative affairs.

In addition to his political career, Furber served for more than five years as an infantry reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces. As a Corporal, he served with both the Loyal Edmonton Regiment and the Governor General's Foot Guards, gaining leadership experience while balancing military service alongside his work in government and politics.

Furber's career reflects a progression through communications, legislative affairs, and executive leadership roles, supported by experience in both federal and provincial politics. As Alberta continues advancing major capital projects, health and education infrastructure, and long-term economic development initiatives, he will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the Ministry of Infrastructure while serving as a key liaison between government, industry, and project stakeholders.
