Key Influencer – Nicole Gray – Chief of Staff to the Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services

Nicole Gray is the current Chief of Staff to the Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services, Adriana LaGrange. The ministry was newly created in May 2025 and has a mandate to expand primary care access, strengthen preventive health services and support the integration of Alberta’s newly restructured health system. Gray had previously served as Chief of Staff to Minister LaGrange during her tenures in both the Health and Education portfolios.
Gray brings extensive political, legislative, and advocacy experience to the role. Her career in public service began in the Alberta Legislature as a Legislative Assistant, where she acquired experience in policy development and political operations. In 2010, Gray co-founded Rock the Vote Canada, an initiative focused on increasing political engagement among youth and young professionals. Gray later worked as an Associate with the government relations firm, Canadian Strategy Group.
Gray also has direct political experience, having run as the UCP candidate in Edmonton-West Henday during the 2019 provincial election. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Distinction in 2006.
